Year-End Campaign
I’ve got something I’d really love to invite you into. This feels like a bit of a crazy endeavour, but if you know me, you know I love a good crazy challenge!
Let me get straight to it…
I’d like to raise $10,000 in the next 2 weeks! Well, nearly 3, but I like to round down to make sure I feel the weight of the urgency!
$10,000! That’s a lot! I have a plan though, and some reckless faith, so let’s jump in!
I want to keep the immediate details in focus, so check out the video below! Right beneath the video will be information about this specific campaign. And then, in case you aren’t familiar with some of what I do and why I’m raising funds, I’ll provide those details at the very bottom!
Year-End Campaign
I’m looking for 50 or more people to jump in and be a part of helping me cover my 2025 Operating Expenses, including the expenses associated with me investing in myself and my credentials for the work I’m doing!
From as little as a one-time donation of $25 all the way up to $1000+, there are loads of opportunities to be a part of this with me!
Here’s the invitation…
Take a look at the chart below, let me know what box you want to adopt! Then send your donation to YWAM Canada. All donations go through YWAM Canada and are considered a charitable donation, so you’ll get a tax receipt. Click here for the specifics on how to send in donations.
Also, super-cool… normally there is a 5% fee on all giving that goes towards the YWAM office. This goes towards them paying for accountants and lawyers and such as they are the ones who issues tax receipts. This month, due to some extra donations they have received, they are waiving that 5% fee in order to help us with a GIVING BOOST! 5% may not sound like much, it adds up, especially on a $10,000 campaign!
If you don’t already know, I’m on staff with a global organization called Youth With A Mission (YWAM). I’ve participated in various YWAM programs and activities for well over 20 years, and officially joined staff late 2022!
I’m going to post some more info through the rest of this first week of December giving more of the specifics of what I do, but for now, let me summarize.
I equip and empower youth ministry workers and churches as they lean into the spiritual formation of young people. I do this primarily through coaching and consulting.
I mobilize young people to Kingdom engagement. I do this by facilitating local and international missions experiences.
Essentially, I get to be a part of a super-cool global organization and on their behalf I get to draw on nearly 25 years worth of youth ministry experience and be a support and resource to churches and the next generation of youth ministry workers!
Sounds great, eh!? I absolutely love it! Like I said, I’ll break that down in more detail in an email going out later in the week.
So why I am trying to raise $10,000 in two weeks?
YWAM is an international missions organization where all staff are self-supported. Meaning, there is no actual pay-cheque that comes from YWAM.
Instead, I raise my own support.
Certainly, this can come with some challenges, but I am so encouraged by the way this allows me to serve churches and youth workers and tell them there does not have have to be a financial barrier between us. This is something I’m super passionate about and have seen so much fruit in… ask me more about it sometime!
Over the last two years, I’ve been seeing pretty good progress towards my support raising goals.
I also need to raise my own operating expenses - the “stuff of” that comes with doing this work. All support raising I do goes through the same channel, but I have my own internal budgeting to make sure I can cover operating expenses and such.
What what’s the $10,000 for?
Making solid investments into myself as a person and my equipping. This year I’ve hired a coach who is helping me with all sorts of things that are helping me grow in my ability to do this work.
Next year I’d like to take a course that will give me further credentials and certification in the area of youth ministry coaching.
If I can have a focused year-end campaign for Operational Expenses, it means less of my regular giving will need to go towards that, helping me get closer and closer to my ultimate salary goals.
