December 2024
Wild! Another year is nearly complete! I know, I know.. it’s super cliché to talk about how fast years go by and all that stuff… but I suppose it’s cliché because it’s felt! And I can say for sure this is a year where I have felt it!
As wild as it feels it has been, I’m here for it! 2024 has been a great year. Certainly not without challenges and low points, but a great year nonetheless. I’m super excited to get into 2025 and continue to lean into some great things!
I’m going to try something a bit new for year-end this year…
A final push to “say Hi” and to give a bit of a family update to the many awesome people in my life in various parts of the globe.
A focused invitation to a year-end support raising campaign.
An update on the work I’m doing with YWAM and why I see so much value in it!
So here’s the first part of all that… a quick family update!
For the more visual among you, here’s a quick video. Actually pretty quick this time! I kept it to 3:25!
For those who prefer to read an update… check below.
Quick Family Update
Family life is good as we wrap up this year.
Corbyn just turned 17. He’s got a job as a life-guard and swimming instructor. He just spent his birthday weekend nerding out with some friends watching nearly 30 hours of Starwars films! Nerd!
He’s in the process of planning and deciding on details for doing a YWAM Discipleship Training School next year.
Brennan also has a job. He’s a bus boy and host at a local family owned restaurant. He really enjoys it and is thriving in this new setting. He’s settled into high school life well and for the most part really enjoys being at school - though, admittedly not so much for the learning!
Aiden is representing the Stade name well! For only the second time in his life (the first one being pre-school) he’s the only Stade in his school. He’s got some great friends whom he spends loads of time with. He’s stoked about playing some indoor soccer in the new year.
Care and I are doing well in life, work, love and parenting. For sure there are ups and downs in all of those areas, but we tackle everything together and generally have a lot of fun doing it! Care continues to carry a lot of weight at work and handles it with grace! Sure there are hard seasons, but for the most part she’s doing great with work. She’s a super-rad mom to our teen (and nearly teen) aged boys.
I’m loving the work I’m doing with YWAM… I’ll tell you all about it an upcoming post.
I also love getting to still be a part of the team at our local Starbucks! I’m a rock-star barista for about 10-12 hours a week. I work with a great team, connect with tons of regulars, and even often call the café my office for my other YWAM work.
That’s all for now…
Like I said, you can anticipate hearing a bit more from me this month!
Tomorrow I’m going to share a “Year-End Giving” campaign.
Then later in the week I’ll share some posts that give a closer look at the work I do with YWAM.
As always… if you’re reading this and want to not just read but have a conversation… I’d LOVE that!
Let’s chat!
