Summer 2024 Highlights

It sounds pretty cliché, probably because it is... but, WOW, it's hard to believe we're in the last week or so of August!
This summer has been pretty full for the Stade's. Certainly too full for me to give a full play by play... allow me to give some highlights... (in no particular order)

  • Brennan graduated Grade 8 and is eager to begin High School. 🧑🏼‍🎓

  • Aiden spent some time camping with grandparents, more than once.  🏕️

  • Corbyn spent the summer working full-time as a life guard and swimming instructor at a local pool. 🛟

  • Jud and Care celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary! 🍾

  • Corbyn and Jud had a blitz road trip with some friends to see Dave Matthews Band in concert. Bucket list - ✅

  • Jud spent a week in Tijuana with Mission Adventures - this time bringing a local youth pastor on somewhat of a "scouting trip." 🇲🇽

  • Care no longer needs to feel like a taxi mom, well, at least not as much since Corbyn got is G2 Drivers Licence. 🚖

  • Brennan was invited to preach at our church. PREACH. Not just share some thoughts, legit, preach from up front sermon kinda preach! And, as I'm sure you can imagine, he absolutely crushed it! You can check out the video here. 🗣️

  • We had visitors from Alberta. Then some more visitors from Alberta. Then even more visitors from Alberta! Wooo!! 🫂

  • Corbyn has been an active part of worship ministries at our church 🎸

  • Care's work is pretty busy, so she's had to bop in and out of a lot of our awesome summer activities. 🗓️

  • By spending nearly ever available hour at the pool, Brennan and Aiden gained the nickname "Pool Rats" from Corbyn and his lifeguard coworkers. 🩳 🏊🏻‍♂️

  • Jud, Brennan and Aiden spent 3 nights at a Provincial Park camping. ⛺️

  • Corbyn, Jud and Brennan spent 5 nights back country canoe camping near the Georgian Bay near Perry Sound. 🛶🌳🌲🐟🎣🏕️

  • We used, and plan to use at least once more, a season pass to Six Flags in Darien Lake New York. 🎢

  • Jud spent his birthday weekend on his motorcycle riding up to see a friend in Brockville before returning via the Adirondack Foothills through Upstate New York. ⛰️🏍️

  • We experimented with a few hot sauce recipes while enjoying the summer fruit harvest on the Niagara region. 🍑

As you can see and imagine... it's been a pretty full summer. Through all of this, we've stayed busy with just normal day-to-day sort of life stuff. As mentioned above, Care's work schedule is pretty full in the summer, so that has kept her busy. Jud continues to put some weekly hours in at Starbucks while also continues to build network and resources for his work with YWAM. It's all been pretty full and fun.
As we look towards the fall, we're also quite excited. Corbyn starts his last year of High School, Brennan starts his first at the same school. For the first time in his life Aiden will be the only of his siblings at his school. Jud has another trip to Tijuana planned for October and might even slip away for another motorcycle adventure in September.
In all of this, we're grateful. Grateful for good health. Grateful for friends who can share so many of these adventures with. Grateful for how Jesus is shaping our boys. So much to be grateful for!
