Hope Deferred

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Proverbs 13:12

I’ve been delaying putting this update out.

It probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise, especially to those of you reading this from Canada, but it seems that international travel is pretty far from returning to anything that could come close to what was “normal.”

So I’ve spoken with Homes of Hope and am making plans to defer my 40th birthday house build until next summer.

As Proverbs 13:12 puts it, my heart has felt sick about this. Of course I’m saddened by this and feel homesick at the thought of not getting to Tijuana this summer.

But a longing fulfilled! Oh man. How sweet will it be when I finally get to feel the Mexican sun on my shoulders as a raise some walls around a families new home! LET IT BE!

So anyway… this is just a quick note to say… THIS IS STILL HAPPENING … just not in the same timeframe I had hoped for!

I’ve made some forward progress on fundraising.

I had even planned to do some take-out “Cinco de Mayo Tacos with Jud,” but Ontario has decided to go into even more strict stay-at-home COVID restrictions until nearly the end of May (at least). *sigh*

So until my government will allow me to do fun fundraising like that, I’m stuck with simply asking people to support this.

One positive to deferring by a year is that I have more time to gather funds.

I’m really hoping that perhaps some of you reading this may be willing to commit to giving monthly or quarterly for the next year or so. A couple supporters like that and I’d be doing great.

As the “eternal optimist” that I am, I’m actually even hoping that pushing his back a year could mean that I can raise the funds to build homes for two families! Oh man.. how sweet would that “longing fulfilled” be!!

So again… thank you for being on this journey with me. I’m so grateful to those who have given to this already and to those who have even just shared excitement with me.

I’d any of you reading this to consider if there are ways you could perhaps really join me in this. If that could come in the form of finances, that’d be awesome!

AND… now that this is more than a year away.. it’ll be a lot easier for some of you to build it into your Summer 2022 plans!! COME WITH ME! For real… let’s talk about that!
