Righteous Needle Threading
Here’s the timeline of the last month...
- July 9th we decide to try to sell our house to move to Ontario.
- July 13th our house goes live on the market
- July 14th we sign an offer accepting the purchase terms
- July 26th a Big Steele Box arrived for us to pack.
- July 28th I preached for the last time at Central
- July 30th we started packing the sea can
- July 31st, 13 minutes before the deadline, the conditions came off the house.
- Aug 3 at 2am, I set an alarm for 3:30am to allow some time for final clean up.
- Aug 3 at 5:30am we began our drive across the country.
- Aug 5 at 5:30pm, 3215kms later we arrived in Kingsville at Care’s parents place.
- Aug 6, Care and I leave the boys with Grandma and Grandpa and go up to the Niagara region to try to buy a house.
- Aug 7, we put an offer on a house (low balled pretty hard because of some of the renovations we knew we’d want to do)
- Aug 8. Our 16 year anniversary.
- Aug 8 morning, our offer rebuttled for $30k higher, eating up the renovation budget. We have until 9pm to accept or decline.
- Aug 8 before lunch, I see another listing online and think, this could be good. Realtor scrambles to give us a chance to see it that day.
- Aug 8 at 7pm we walk through that property.
- Aug 8 at 8:30pm Care and I sit down for Nachos to celebrate our anniversary and call the realtor asking him to make an offer.
- Aug 9 early morning, we see email our offer has been accepted, one condition we put in was an inspection.
- Aug 9 at noon. We walk through the property with inspector and some family.
- Aug 9 late afternoon, Care and I head back to Kingsville to be with boys. Make a number of phone calls on the drive to sort out finalizing the sale of our Edmonton home and figure out when we need to be where to sign other documents and such.
- Aug 10 around noon, we confirm that I don’t need to be present for any signatures or anything over the next week and a half.
- Aug 10th around 2, our super-star travel agent and I have confirmed flights for me to be a part of the TJ19 team with Central!
WOWZA... what a month it has been!! Haha.
Over the last month, a number of people have kept asking me if this move meant I would not be able to go to TJ. I kept telling them that if Jesus chose to thread the needle JUST right, that it could still happen. Well, I’d say that’s some pretty righteous needle threading!!
Thanks for all who have been praying into this with us!
We’re very excited about the property and feel more affirmed through all of this than ever that Jesus has some good stuff for us to walk in during this next season of our lives!
Again, WOWZA!
